Instruksi
1
Preheat your oven to 163 °C (160 °C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
💡
Tip:Ensuring the pan is well-greased and floured prevents the cake from sticking.
2
In a small bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Set aside.
💡
Tip:The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your cake will be.
3
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
💡
Tip:Whisking dry ingredients ensures even distribution of leavening agents and spices.
4
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
💡
Tip:Proper creaming incorporates air, contributing to a lighter cake texture.
5
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
💡
Tip:Avoid overmixing the batter once flour is added to prevent a tough cake.
6
Gently fold in the mashed banana mixture until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
💡
Tip:Folding preserves the air incorporated during creaming.
7
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
💡
Tip:An offset spatula can help create a smooth, even surface for baking.
8
Bake for 50-65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
💡
Tip:Baking time can vary; start checking for doneness around the 50-minute mark.
9
Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
💡
Tip:Cooling in the pan briefly allows the cake to set, making it easier to remove.
10
While the cake cools, prepare the glaze: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until well combined and smooth.
💡
Tip:Ensure cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for a smooth, lump-free glaze.
11
Spread the cream cheese glaze evenly over the cooled cake. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts.
💡
Tip:Allow the cake to cool completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting.
